Chen Yixin, China's Minister of State Security, detailed the threat landscape for artificial intelligence in the latest issue of China Cybersecurity Magazine, focusing on regime security and critical infrastructure. These threats include the use of deepfakes to incite social divisions and the deployment of U.S. models like Claude Mythos and GPT-5.5-Cyber to automate cyberattacks against information systems. The Minister also warned that foreign intelligence agencies use AI-powered web crawlers to collect trade secrets and personal data.

Chen listed six major risks—including data leakage and closed technological ecosystems—and proposed strengthening "Party control over the internet" and "Party control over data" as the solution. He described the global AI race as a contest between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party to control information and society, noting that AI is moving combat operations into an era of "intelligentization" through precise sensing and targeting.
