YouTube and digital podcast platforms will host a new video first series about artificial intelligence starting next month produced by Kevin Roose and Casey Newton. The program, titled Machine Gods, airs twice weekly in partnership with NPR and includes producer Rachel Cohn. This production marks a transition for the creators following their tenure as hosts of the Hard Fork podcast.

Roose and Newton are establishing an independent media company in San Francisco to house the project. They cited the public service mission of NPR as the reason for the partnership, aiming to provide independent reporting on AI to millions of people for free during a critical period for public engagement.
