The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is partnering with Google to integrate machine learning tools into small-scale agriculture. This initiative allocates more than $100 million to develop AI resources that provide technical assistance to smallholder growers. The funding targets an expansion of access to these digital services from a base of 50 million farmers to 200 million.

The collaboration focuses on scaling digital infrastructure to support the operational needs of agriculturalists worldwide. The $100 million commitment will fund the creation of AI tool ecosystems to modernize farming practices and prioritize the transition of 150 million additional farmers into the user base.
