Samsung Electronics led a Series D funding round for Mistral that valued the artificial intelligence startup at more than €21 billion. The €3 billion capital injection stands as the largest equity raise to date for a technology company based in Europe. The funding allows the company to shift its focus from a research laboratory toward a larger scale infrastructure play.

Mistral targets 1 GW of European compute capacity by 2030 to build sovereign AI infrastructure. The investment supports a strategy to reduce reliance on external suppliers for chipsets, cloud runtime, and deployment expertise to ensure the startup can control its own dependency chain.
