The newly updated Codex terminal now allows programmers to steer development tasks using their voice. This refreshed command line interface (CLI) includes a '/agents' view to delegate work and track several tasks at once, alongside a new code review experience and tools for resuming sessions. OpenAI has also introduced configurable and reusable development environments in the cloud, which the company says makes building on a local laptop unnecessary once configured.

An Agents API is now available in preview, giving developers access to the same technology that powers OpenAI's cloud agents, including those known as 'dots'. This API supports computer use, allowing for the creation of tools that can operate a computer system directly. The current cloud infrastructure provides more flexibility and configuration options than the version released last year.
