An updated framework for autonomous AI agents is now available to the public as of Oct. 1. The company's first stable release transitions the platform to version 1.0 and introduces Pi Durable, a specialized runtime environment designed to maintain persistence for agent-based applications.

Developer Harrison Chase stated that a durable runtime has become a necessary requirement for any agent harness to function. He highlighted the combination of Pi and Pi Durable as a key development in this area, drawing a comparison to the technical pairing of deepagents and langgraph.
