The South Korean electronics giant is allocating capital to a specialized venture formed in June to build AI facilities. Samsung is investing $1 billion into the company Helix to support the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure, adding to the $10 billion already raised by a consortium led by KKR that included Nvidia.

The Wall Street Journal reported the investment, which increases the total capital for the firm's physical buildout. Samsung units are providing the funds to expand the role of the company in developing the facilities required to house high-performance AI hardware.
