NEWSamsung Leads $230 Million Euclyd Round to Rival Nvidia GPU DominanceNVDA

A Dutch startup based in Eindhoven raised €200 million in a Series A financing deal to build a new AI inference chip architecture for data center infrastructure. Euclyd secured the investment in a round co-led by Samsung Electronics, Somerset Capital Partners, and the EU’s Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, with additional participation from Innovation Industries. Former ASML CEO Peter Wennink joined the company as chairman to oversee the development of processor-memory co-design chips.

The company plans to roll out physical chip systems in 2028 and target thousands of enterprise customers by 2030. By utilizing specialized hardware, the startup aims to reduce the power consumption and operational costs associated with Nvidia's GPU dominance. Samsung's $230 million commitment reflects a broader industry trend toward custom silicon and inference-specific architectures to lower the cost of AI deployments.
