OpenAI launched a new advertising system that allows merchants to promote products within the ChatGPT interface using synchronized catalog data. Shopify serves as the first commerce partner for the tool, which enables the AI to pull product details directly from the Shopify Catalog to populate ads.

Merchants set their own campaigns and budgets through the Shopify admin, where they can also track performance. The installation is free and allows businesses to decide how their products appear when consumers ask the AI what to buy.
