TotalEnergies is collaborating with Mistral AI to integrate artificial intelligence into its subsurface analysis and discovery workflows. The company will use the French startup's tools to locate new oil and gas deposits and improve recovery rates from current assets.

The initiative implements AI software to extend the productive life of existing energy fields and refine subsurface mapping. These tools are being integrated into the energy major's operations to increase its capacity to find new hydrocarbon resources.
