1 OpenAI Pre-IPO Contract Falls Nearly 12% From Highs After Dots RolloutPVT:OPAI 🤖 AI Sep 24, 4:38 PM EDT 239/101
OpenAI’s pre-IPO perpetual contract on Liquid erased its DevDay gains on Oct. 1, trading at a $1.58 trillion implied valuation after falling nearly 12% from its highs. Liquid attributed the retreat to disappointment over the rollout of Dots, OpenAI’s new AI agents. The figure is a valuation implied by the contract, not a company fundraising valuation.
Dots failed to respond during its first live demonstration at DevDay. OpenAI attributed the demonstration problems to rolling out all the updates at the same time. Early tester Dan Shipper reported benefits from having an agent filter email and Slack requests, but also encountered bugs: “I had frequent issues with permissions and dropped messages, and my Dot was unable to connect to its own in-app browser.”
Launched Sept. 29, Dots run on GPT-6 Astra and use their own cloud computers to keep working between conversations across more than 4,000 connected apps. Access is included in Pro plans, including the $100 tier, as well as Business Premium and Enterprise plans in eligible markets. Sam Altman has said a mass market consumer version is coming, extending OpenAI’s competition with Meta’s Muse, which is free to start within a usage limit.
