Constellation and the cloud computing giant signed a contract to increase electricity generation at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant. The arrangement will provide a dedicated stream of carbon-free energy to meet the growing power requirements of the tech company's data center infrastructure.

The power purchase agreement adds 190 MW of nuclear capacity over a 20 year term. Other hyperscalers have similarly sought long term nuclear deals to handle the surge in electricity demand driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence workloads.
