The exiting chief executive of Mattel has informed his board of directors that he is moving to the combined Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery entity. Sources familiar with the move say Ynon Kriez will occupy a high-level leadership position, with the possibility of being named president or co-CEO of the media company.

The appointment is part of a move by David Ellison to strengthen his team of senior executives. An insider characterized the recruitment of Kriez as proof that Ellison's strategy should not be underestimated, though a spokesperson for Paramount was unavailable for comment.
