FCC Grants Gulf Fund Ownership in Paramount $111 Billion Warner Bros. Buyout↩︎PSKYWBD

The Federal Communications Commission authorized sovereign wealth funds from the Middle East to hold stakes in the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. This regulatory clearance permits foreign investment to exceed 25% of total equity, including a 15.1% stake for Saudi Arabia's PIF and a 12.8% stake for the UAE's L'imad Holding. The Ellison family and RedBird maintain 100% of voting control despite the newly approved financing structure.

Paramount is negotiating a settlement with several US state attorneys general to resolve antitrust litigation blocking the $111 billion merger. Sources indicate an agreement could be reached as soon as this weekend, ending a standoff where the company looked for office space in Nashville and threatened to exit California. The deal faces a March trial and a $7 million daily fee starting October 1 if it remains unclosed.
