NEW11% of French Fuel Stations Run Out of Petrol or Diesel

Official data released Saturday reveals a widespread fuel shortage across multiple French regions. Regional outages peak at 16% in Grand Est and 15% in Pays de la Loire, while Occitanie and Centre-Val de Loire report rates of 14% and 13% respectively. The national figure of 11%, or 1 in 9 stations, identifies only locations completely void of either petrol or diesel, excluding those with partial availability of one fuel grade.

French diesel averages €2.406 a litre, or $10.45 a gallon, during the current supply squeeze. This disruption is part of a broader energy crisis described as the worst in Europe's history, with the official tally potentially undercounting the real scale of the scarcity due to how shortages are registered.
