Daily shipments through the Persian Gulf's primary chokepoint surged to a multi month high on a 7 day average as of Sunday. Transit flow through the Strait of Hormuz reached nearly 12 million barrels per day, the fastest pace since the breakout in June and July. Recent volumes now include reports of daytime transits and contain virtually no Iranian crude.

Current flows represent less than 60% of prewar levels despite the recent recovery. Crude prices remain elevated because a Saudi East-West pipeline outage crushed Red Sea flows and releases from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve are slowing. While confirmed transits flatlined over the past two days, Sunday's high water mark serves as the best estimate for the current flow pace.
