Aramco increased crude shipments to eastern ports to keep global supplies steady after regional conflict disrupted shipping routes. The kingdom sold nearly 100 million barrels of oil to Asian buyers since the middle of last week to mitigate a looming supply crunch, with shipment volumes continuing through October and November via the Strait of Hormuz.
The ramp up in exports follows the restart of the East-West pipeline, also known as Petroline, which was damaged by drone strikes earlier this month. Saudi Arabia restored flows to double the 2Mbpd required for refining within a little over a week, a recovery timeline that was faster than market estimates, according to data from TankerTrackers.
