1 Saudi East-West Pipeline Flows Reach 5.5M BPD 🛢️ Commodity Sep 26, 4:17 AM EDT 90/50
Throughput for Saudi Arabia's main cross-country oil link has recovered to more than 75% of its nameplate capacity of 7 million barrels per day, a person with knowledge of the matter says. Flow has reached approximately 5.5 million barrels per day (BPD), climbing from previous estimates of 3.5 million BPD. Some industry observers, including analyst Dario Cpx, dispute these reports as a disinformation campaign, while others note that three pumping stations remain out of service.
Saudi Aramco resumed flows on the East-West pipeline on Sept. 22 and restarted port exports at Yanbu and Al Muajjiz on Sept. 28 after drone strikes on Sept. 10. The route is a critical bypass for the Strait of Hormuz during regional conflicts. Total crude loadings averaged about 6.4 million BPD last week, which exceeds the 5.4 million BPD average seen in 2025, says analyst Amena Bakr.
