1 US Central Command Reports 1 Billion Barrels Shipped in 6 Month Hormuz High 🛢️ Commodity Sep 19, 4:30 PM EDT 35/18
Oil and liquefied natural gas shipments through the Strait of Hormuz reached a 6 month high over the past two weeks, with more than 1 billion barrels of crude shipped by Persian Gulf allies in the last two months. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, said the volume followed mine clearance efforts and the coordinated protection of over 2,000 commercial transits. Iran exported zero barrels under a US blockade during the same period.
Iran’s armed forces rejected the CENTCOM data, with spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi calling the 1 billion barrel figure "false" and "ridiculous." Shekarchi described the claims as a psychological operation intended to boost the morale of US forces and justify the cost of the war. The US military is currently enhancing regional air defenses and forming a new coalition attack drone unit to maintain the strait's primary lanes.
