A new sales and purchase agreement signed Sept. 14 requires China Gas to buy 0.5 million tonnes of US liquefied natural gas per year for two decades starting in 2030. The deal increases the total long term offtake for the Chinese gas supplier to 2.5 million tonnes annually from Venture Global. Shipments will be supplied from the US company's portfolio of projects in Louisiana, including Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG.

Venture Global currently maintains more than 100 million tonnes of annual capacity in production, construction, or development. China Gas, one of China's largest integrated gas suppliers, distributes fuel to residential and industrial customers via a national network of pipelines and terminals. CEO Mike Sabel stated the deal expands a partnership that first began with supply agreements in 2023.
