Coinbase Derivatives submitted a request to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to launch cash-settled perpetual futures tied to individual U.S. listed stocks and ETFs. The application proposes contracts for 50 to 60 companies, including Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia, with Apple used as the representative contract to establish a regulated U.S. market for these instruments.

These contracts would provide 24/5 exposure and fall under the joint jurisdiction of the CFTC and the Securities and Exchange Commission as security futures products. While Coinbase already offers equity perpetual futures to eligible users outside the U.S., the current filing seeks to bring these derivatives onshore for American traders.
