Digital asset prices surged on Sept. 18, driving the market leader past $80,000 during a period of intense trading activity. Liquidations of short positions reached $250 million within four hours as oil supply fears pushed crude to $98 per barrel and drove U.S. bond yields higher. BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, rose nearly 6% and ranked as the fifth most traded U.S. ETF by volume.
