1 Mastercard Integrates OUSD into Commercial Settlement NetworkMAPVT:STRP 🪙 Crypto Sep 30, 11:14 AM EDT 44/32
Corporate treasury operations can now move and settle funds using the Open USD stablecoin via BVNK infrastructure to avoid redesigning existing accounting software. This integration allows businesses to initiate payments through the Mastercard commercial settlement network. In a separate move, Open Standard appointed Chainlink as the official price oracle for OUSD, providing the data required for the token to be used in lending markets and decentralized exchanges.
Launched recently on the Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo blockchains, OUSD began with $1 billion in initial liquidity from founding partners including Coinbase, Shopify, and Visa. A consortium of over 200 firms backs the asset, which is issued by Stripe's Bridge with reserves held at BNY, Lead Bank, and BlackRock. Unlike competitors such as USDC or USDT, OUSD is structured so that most of the yield from reserves accrues to the partners promoting the token rather than the issuer.
