1 ZetaChain Token Holders Approve 99.4% Migration to Solana to Close L1 🪙 Crypto Sep 20, 11:38 AM EDT 3/3
The governance process for ZetaChain reached a 58% turnout to move its native currency away from a standalone blockchain. Proposal 68 passed with 99.4% "yes" votes, authorizing the transition of $ZETA to a native SPL token on Solana at a 1:1 rate. The move will not increase the total supply but will reduce token decimals from 18 to 9, while the current network remains operational until a second proposal for the L1 shutdown passes. Voting concludes September 20 at 14:58 UTC.
ZetaChain is pivoting to prioritize Anuma, a private multi-model AI application with more than 300,000 users, after concluding that maintaining its Cosmos-based chain is too expensive and complex. The project cited Solana's block times of 250 to 400 milliseconds and low fees as better suited for AI agents. Staking and validator operations continue without change until the transition's second phase is approved.
