The British Broadcasting Corporation is auditing its reporting on press casualties in Gaza after evidence suggests several listed individuals were active members of militant organizations. The broadcaster is reviewing a list of 53 people it identified as journalists following a Telegraph report citing evidence of links to Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other groups. Some of these individuals appeared in terrorist obituaries, posed in military uniforms with rifles, or allegedly participated in the October 7 attacks.

The Committee to Protect Journalists has also removed multiple names from its records after independent research confirmed those individuals had engaged in combat. The BBC stated it is currently reviewing its coverage and the identified identities of the deceased to ensure accuracy.
