Police in East Jerusalem provided security for groups of Israeli settlers who entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex on Sept. 20. Around 570 settlers reached the courtyards of the mosque to perform Talmudic rituals, after an initial group of 90 stormed the site earlier that morning.

The events coincided with the observance of Yom Kippur. Israeli police officers escorted the settlers into the compound to facilitate the activities, as reported by Al Jazeera and Al Mayadeen.
