German Air Force assets have arrived at Lielvarde Air Base to provide aerial security for upcoming parliamentary elections in Latvia. The deployment follows a series of unauthorized incursions into Baltic airspace and is designed to prevent interference with the democratic process.

Four Bundeswehr Eurofighter jets will remain in the country for approximately one week to cover the Oct 3 vote. The Latvian Defense Ministry confirmed that the aircraft were urgently deployed to reinforce national security and guard the airspace throughout the election period.
