Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader, warned that Tehran is monitoring which nations in the region align with Washington. He stated that Iran's aviation strategy dictates that flights in the area must be either open to all parties or accessible to no one, suggesting a policy of reciprocity regarding airspace access.

The threat follows the suspension of all flights between Iran and Iraq's Najaf Airport, mirroring an earlier halt in Baghdad. At Najaf, passengers were blocked from boarding a Meraj Airlines A319 flight destined for Mashhad. Mokhber told Al Mayadeen that Iran's position is clear and airspace will not be available to anyone if it is not available to all.
