The security summit also addressed a fuel crisis triggered by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Macron announced plans to convene the G7 during France's presidency to coordinate strategic stockpiles and production capacity. Domestically, the government will focus on electrification to reduce hydrocarbon dependence and work with the European Commission to increase gas storage flexibility.
