President Masoud Pezeshkian has submitted a new diplomatic framework to stop regional conflict and is seeking a decision from Washington on the proposal. While awaiting a response, Pezeshkian declared that Iran no longer trusts its negotiations with the U.S., stating that previous rounds of talks were repeatedly followed by American military strikes and sanctions. He questioned whether Washington would abide by any written commitments if a new agreement were reached, claiming the U.S. does not respect prior obligations.

Indirect diplomacy remains active through mediators in Qatar and Pakistan, who are conveying messages between Tehran and Washington to prove Iran is not seeking further unrest. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Pezeshkian blamed the U.S. for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and argued that regional security must be achieved through cooperation between neighbors rather than relying on an external "policeman."
