Chief executives from the semiconductor industry joined several other business leaders at a diplomatic gathering of heads of state on Thursday night. Jensen Huang of Nvidia and Lisa Su of AMD were among the guests attending a dinner at the White House hosted by Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, which also included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg. Other corporate attendees were Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Tesla's Elon Musk, Apple's Tim Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Sam Altman, General Motors CEO Mary Barra, and Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg.

The event coincided with ongoing economic discussions between Washington and Beijing. US Treasury Secretary Bessent met with Chinese Vice Premier He in Washington to conclude a series of talks, stating that the US is open to either maintaining the current Busan arrangement or pursuing a broader agreement with China.
