A new compound for as many as 10,000 American personnel is currently being planned by Washington and Warsaw, the Polish Foreign Minister said. The proposed second military installation would host two heavy brigades, though officials noted that finalization depends on President Donald Trump keeping a promise made to the Polish leadership. President Karol Nawrocki announced that if a permanent base is established, the site will be christened 'Fort Trump.'

Poland is paying for its own security and the costs associated with the stay of US troops in the country, Nawrocki said. The expanded presence is intended to reassure allies on NATO's eastern flank, while the president added that Trump is known for keeping his word regarding such commitments.
