1 Blue Origin Raises $10B at $140B Valuation in First Outside Round 🚀 Startups Sep 24, 4:23 PM EDT 10/9
The aerospace venture owned by Jeff Bezos is diversifying its capital sources to accelerate the rollout of its orbital launch and satellite systems. Blue Origin raised $10B at a $140B valuation in its first ever outside funding round, according to internal documents reviewed by the Wall Street Journal. Bezos contributed $2B to this round, increasing his total investment in the firm since its founding in 2000 to approximately $30B, though the current round may ultimately close above the $10B target.
The company projects revenue will rise from $800M in 2025 to $1.4B this year and more than $30B by 2030, driven by New Glenn launches and fleets of AI and communications satellites. Blue Origin currently employs about 15,000 people and is rebuilding its Florida launch complex after a New Glenn vehicle exploded on the launchpad in May.
