Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC provided the latest capital to Supabase as it absorbs Turso into its ecosystem. The funding round totals $150M and coincides with an agreement to purchase Turso, a provider of databases optimized for AI agents, for an undisclosed amount.

The companies are combining lightweight databases with petabyte scale Postgres to build a technical foundation for the "agentic era" of autonomous AI. While the acquisition strengthens the stack, some industry figures like Theo criticized the Turso founder's business leadership after the founder previously rejected scout investment because the investor was not leading the subsequent funding round.
