1 TypeSafe Seeks $1B Raise at $10B Valuation One Week After $200M Round π Startups Sep 24, 2:46 PM EDT 8/7
The founders of an emerging AI firm are leveraging a surge in market interest to secure new institutional funding for their cost-efficient technology. TypeSafe is in talks with investors to raise $1B or more at a valuation exceeding $10B, just seven days after the company closed a previous financing round that valued the business at $200M. The startup is seeking the fresh capital to scale its new model as demand for efficient AI alternatives grows.
The firm's Jev model, created by a former OpenAI researcher, went viral over the past week as a faster and cheaper substitute for frontier large language models. A Sequoia partner noted that the model's revenue grew from zero to 100 million in seven days, while the system also became the top performer for 1k to 10k context on OpenRouter.
