Tesla increased production of its Optimus humanoid robot roughly 10x in recent months but is encountering bottlenecks with suppliers and automation equipment. The robot's intricate hands are causing challenges for durability and mass manufacture, which is hindering the company's effort to scale up, according to The Information.

Managers at the carmaker told employees that the company wants to establish a production line capable of building more than 1,000 robots per week by the end of the year. This near-term target is a step toward a long-term goal of producing about 20,000 units per week.
