The brokerage app will soon enable its users to execute equity trades during hours when the general public markets are typically shut. Robinhood announced a shift to 24/7 stock trading that includes access on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring the platform's equity markets never close. The company is also extending its options trading hours by 33%.

The expansion follows the implementation of 25/5 markets. During a recent keynote, an executive named Vlad noted that significant market volatility often occurs over weekends, though some market observers have warned that this move toward continuous trading turns public markets into a casino.
