New data from two separate polling firms show a competitive race for Michigan's US Senate seat. A Washington Post-Schar School survey conducted September 10 through September 14 placed Democrat Abdul El-Sayed at 48% and Republican Mike Rogers at 45% among likely voters, while an Emerson poll conducted September 12 through September 14 recorded support at 48.2% and 45.8%, respectively.
The Post-Schar data shows 53% of likely voters prefer Democrats to control the US Senate, a figure higher than the individual support for El-Sayed. In Michigan's gubernatorial race, Democrat Jocelyn Benson holds 53% support over Republican John James's 41% in the Washington Post survey, with the Emerson poll placing Benson at 48.6% to James's 41.9%.
