A candidate for Michigan's 7th Congressional District, Will Lawrence, erased an extensive series of past online comments that advocated for the dissolution of federal and local law enforcement institutions. The purged content featured support for abolishing the U.S. Senate, open borders, and the forced nationalization of fossil fuels, alongside messages telling an individual to "hurry up and die."

Lawrence stated he now disagrees with those previous views and no longer supports open borders or the defunding of police. He previously attacked then-Representative Elissa Slotkin as a "supposed Democrat" in 2020, and he currently holds a 61% win probability for the seat which Donald Trump carried by less than 2 points in 2024.
