The legal status of several political and religious groups in Florida was formally changed by the governor's office on September 29. Governor Ron DeSantis designated the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR and Antifa as terrorist organizations, applying a state mandate to the three entities.

The designations were made possible by an anti-sharia law that DeSantis signed into effect earlier this year. This legislation provides the legal framework for the state to identify and categorize specific organizations as terrorist entities.
