Josh Turek Leads Ashley Hinson 50% to 42% in Marist Iowa Senate Poll

Democrat Josh Turek holds an 8 percentage point lead over Republican Ashley Hinson in a Marist poll for the 2026 Iowa US Senate race. Turek is favored by 50% of registered voters compared to 42% for Hinson in the survey conducted September 17 through September 20. Democrat Rob Sand leads Republican Zach Lahn 54% to 42% for governor, while Democrats hold a 5 percentage point edge on a generic congressional ballot with 50% support against 45% for Republicans.

Respondent perceptions of the likely winners differ from their preferences, with 59% believing Ashley Hinson will win the Senate seat and 37% favoring Turek. For the governor's race, 56% expect Rob Sand to win over Zach Lahn's 41%. President Donald Trump maintains a 41% approval rating among the surveyed Iowa registered voters, who provided no likely voter sample.
