An independent investigation has confirmed that New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell sexually harassed a woman and violated state ethics rules. Governor Mikie Sherrill has since ordered him to vacate his office by Friday after the probe substantiated these allegations, which included a pattern of "improper behavior toward women" such as asking them out on dates.

Sherrill and Caldwell ran together on a joint ticket in the gubernatorial election held last November. The demand for Caldwell's immediate resignation follows the release of the internal report that documented the lieutenant governor's ethics violations within the state's executive branch.
