New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and President Donald Trump agreed to coordinate housing and operations staff between City Hall and the White House to develop Sunnyside Yard. The project targets the creation of 12,000 homes and 30,000 jobs to establish a new neighborhood in a city where housing is the top cost.

The two officials met Monday at Gracie Mansion, where Trump said the site has been discussed for 50 years and will require federal funding and approvals. Other topics of conversation included the release of a local college student detained by ICE and support for Haitian neighbors in New York.
