The 250 foot structure at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge transforms a planned Triumphal Arch into a military complex designed for the rapid deployment of drones. Trump attributed the change to a strong request from the U.S. military to support national security purposes.

Pentagon officials declined to comment on the military's involvement, referring instead to the president's social media post. Interior Secretary Burgum designated the site the "Great Triumphal Arch and Military Observation Deck." The facility aims to resolve what Trump described as a gap in Washington D.C., claiming it is the only one of 59 top world capitals without such a monument.
