The position follows a directive issued during a United Nations General Assembly address to rename artificial intelligence as "Super Intelligence" or "SI" in all official government documents to avoid implying the technology is "fake." The leadership role has been vacant since March 26, when David Sacks stepped down as AI and Crypto Czar to join the President's Council of Advisers on Science & Technology. Alongside the renaming, Trump announced the formation of a US AI Force and rejected any international attempts to regulate the technology.
