The Trump administration is initiating the immediate distribution of government payments to help elderly citizens pay for their health insurance premiums. These checks of nearly $100 will be sent to more than 20 million seniors to cover Medicare Part B costs, with funding drawn from the Medicare Improvement Fund and Most Favored Nations deals, according to Donald Trump.

Trump characterized the funding source as a former slush fund used for waste and fraud before his administration shifted its use to benefit seniors. The president also noted that refund checks are being sent to 1 million Americans overcharged for Unaffordable Care Act plans and promised a $5,000 payment to all US citizens if Republicans win the upcoming midterm elections.
