NEWUS House Tables Al Green Trump Impeachment 232 to 147 With Democrat Help

Eighteen Democrats joined Republicans in a vote to kill a resolution to impeach President Trump on Sept. 15, ending a push led by Rep. Al Green. The House voted 232 to 147 to table the measure, which targeted the president over ICE killings. A total of 47 members voted present, including 46 Democrats and one Republican, during the proceedings.

The motion to table prevents the impeachment resolution from receiving a full floor vote, effectively terminating the legislative effort. Many Democrats voted to advance the impeachment, but party leaders including Hakeem Jeffries voted present. Green leaves office in December after losing his primary, marking the end of his attempts to initiate impeachment proceedings in the House.
