Alarms were triggered across Jordan on Tuesday following reports of a detonation in Syria. Iran's IRNA reported that sirens sounded in the neighboring state after a blast struck the Tishreen thermal power plant on September 30.

The facility is situated near the Damascus International Airport, though the exact cause of the event is undetermined. It remains unclear whether the power plant was hit by a targeted strike or suffered a mechanical accident.
