NASA satellite sensors detected intense thermal activity and fires at a fuel processing plant in Saudi Arabia's capital on October 3. The main Saudi Aramco refinery in Riyadh was targeted in a strike by Yemen's Houthis, with imagery from NASA FIRMS and unconfirmed footage showing large smoke plumes and fires at multiple locations across the site.

The attack coincided with disruptions to flights over the Riyadh Province. While VIIRS thermal data confirms increased heat intensity across the plant, Saudi officials have not released an official statement regarding the scale of the damage or any impact on production.
