Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported more than 350 unmanned aerial vehicles targeted the capital's region between 8:00 p.m. Sept. 17 and 7:00 a.m. Sept. 18. Russia's Defense Ministry claims air defenses downed a total of 629 drones across multiple regions during the start of the first parliamentary elections since the war began. More than 50 drones were shot down over Rostov, where attacks targeted a military airfield.
Ukraine's General Staff stated its forces struck a ground control station for the Orion UAV system at Saky airfield in Crimea. Other strikes hit a drone storage site near Donetsk and ammunition and materiel depots in the Luhansk region near Dovzhansk and Kypuche. The overnight exchange of drone barrages left 12 people injured across Ukraine.
